A 40-day guided experience
Care Without
CarryingA 40-Day Guided Experience for Women Who Are the Ones People Call
40 days of learning to care for others without leaving yourself.
Maybe you are the person people call. You listen. You help. You check in. You think about what someone told you long after the conversation ends. And because you care, you may not have noticed how often someone else’s need becomes something you begin carrying too.
Care Without Carrying is a 40-day guided experience designed to help you notice what happens to you while you are caring for everyone else.
This is not about becoming less loving, less generous, or less available. It is about learning how to stay connected to yourself while you care for the people you love.
I can care about what you are carrying without carrying it for you.
Why these 40 days matter
Slow Enough to See It.
Sometimes caring becomes so automatic that we do not notice when we have moved from listening to fixing, from supporting to feeling responsible, or from being present with someone to carrying their situation into the rest of our day. Over these 40 days, we are going to slow that process down enough for you to see it. Not so you can judge yourself. So you can have a choice.
What you may begin to notice
Small Moments, Seen Sooner.
- when a conversation changes your energy
- when you keep thinking about what someone shared long after the conversation ends
- when you automatically begin trying to make things better
- when guilt makes it difficult to say you do not have room
- when being needed becomes more important than noticing what you need
- what belongs to you and what belongs to someone else
- how to return to yourself after caring for someone
The intention is not perfection. The intention is to notice sooner, understand more, and begin choosing differently.
How the 40 days work
One Day, One Main Thing.
Each day is intentionally small. Most days will take about 5–15 minutes.
Listen
a short audio or Sit With Me reflection
Read
a brief story or teaching
Notice
one question or something to pay attention to during your real day
Practice
one small invitation when a practice is needed
Return
the familiar Return Breath: Inhale “I am here.” Exhale “I can stay with myself.”
You will not receive all five every day. One day may simply ask you to listen. Another may ask you to notice. Another may give you one question to carry into your day. One day = one main thing.
The path we will walk
An Unhurried Arc.
Days 1–5
Recognition
I begin seeing what I do.
Days 6–10
Root
I begin wondering where I learned to care this way.
Days 11–15
Belief
I begin hearing what I believe about being responsible, helpful, and needed.
Days 16–20
Behavior
I recognize what carrying looks like in my everyday life.
Days 21–24
Cost
I notice what this pattern has been costing my time, energy, and room for my own life.
Days 25–29
New Belief
I practice another truth: love does not require my depletion.
Days 30–34
New Practice
I practice pausing, clarifying, containing, returning responsibility, and releasing.
Days 35–40
Integration + Evidence
I notice where I am choosing differently and where I have more room for my own life.
If you miss a day
There Is No Falling Behind.
There is no falling behind here. These are 40 days of practice, not a 40-day attendance test. If life happens and you miss a day, return when you can.
Returning is part of the practice.
What I hope you gain
Room for Your Own Life.
By the end of these 40 days, I hope you can catch yourself sooner when caring begins becoming carrying. I hope you understand more about why you feel responsible for other people. I hope you can pause and ask what you actually have room for. I hope you can leave some conversations without taking them into the rest of your day. Most of all, I hope you remember that you are allowed to remain present in your own life while loving the people in it.
You are not learning to care less. You are learning another way to care.
Before Day 1
A Place to Begin.
Before we begin, Day 0 will help you notice where you are starting. It is not a test or diagnosis. Your responses create a private baseline so that when we reach Day 40, you can return to the same questions and notice what has shifted.
Your starting place, in your own time
Be Well, LaVonne.
